Michael E. Alexander
Associate Professor of Criminal Justice
With more than 20 years of experience as an educator, trainer, and manager in Criminal Justice, Corrections and Human Resources, Michael Alexander brings expert credentials and a wealth of practical knowledge to his role as Associate Professor and Lead Instructor in the School of Criminal Justice at Colorado Technical University.
Assessing today’s students, Alexander notes, “Nowadays students are more aggressive. They expect us to work harder. And, they demand more of us.”
Continually exchanging ideas with his interested students is the root of Alexander’s affection for teaching. In his Criminal Justice classes, he also emphasizes his philosophy of “learning together” as a means of problem solving. “Students must participate together and interact with one another to truly learn.”
Offering counsel to graduates starting careers and entering the work force, Alexander predicts, “Many should expect to start at the entry-level, but then expect to move up quickly.”
In addition to his background in Criminal Justice and Corrections, Alexander spent 18 years in various capacities with the United States Air Force.
Michael Alexander joined the Colorado Technical University faculty in 2004.
